Dear Community Member,
We invite you to participate in helping the City plan for the future. The City of Grand Junction is conducting a 2020 Comprehensive Plan update over the next 18 months and is seeking public input. A new website has been launched to help in that effort and we want people to know about it.
We also ask you to share this information about the comprehensive plan and process with your friends and colleagues.
What is a Comprehensive Plan?
Grand Junction’s Comprehensive Plan will be a blueprint for the City and the foundation of the plan is the community’s vision for its future. This vision will guide the goals and strategies included in the plan that will ultimately direct future growth and development in Grand Junction.
Our update is a long-range plan that will look at issues such as where and how we will grow over the next 20 years. The Plan will include planning for residential and commercial growth and needed services and infrastructure (parks, utilities, roads, police, fire, etc.) and will also evaluate potential changes to the City’s growth boundary, identify risks and vulnerabilities of natural and human caused hazards. Perhaps most importantly, the Plan will work to identify goals, strategies and actions that reflect the values and vision for the community as a whole; one Grand Junction.
How can I get involved!
Do you have ideas about how Grand Junction should grow and develop in the next 15-20 years? Come share them with us! The Visioning Workshop is your opportunity to help craft the vision for the future of Grand Junction by grabbing some markers, working with your neighbors, and creating your own new map for what Grand Junction can become. Your input is an essential part of this process!

Can’t make the workshop?
No problem, you can participate online. Visit the website to fill out a questionnaire, personalize a map of the City, and learn about the comprehensive planning process. The website also allows you to view what the community sees as current issues, community assets and future opportunities. Please check it out and share it with everyone!
Thanks for participating!
