Short-Term Rentals

Short-term or vacation rentals are becoming increasingly popular across the United States. A dwelling unit that is rented in full or in part to a temporary occupant for fewer than thirty consecutive days is considered a short-term rental.

In an effort to implement regulations related to guest safety and community impact in Grand Junction, the Community Development Department has created a process by which short-term rentals will be permitted.

These regulations were authorized by the City Council (Ordinance No. 4813) and went into effect on September 16, 2018.  Applications are now available and short-term rental operators are encouraged to submit their applications; there is a $150 registration fee.  A fee of $10 for a sales tax license and $35 for building inspection is also required.
