Grand Junction Parks and Recreation is excited to offer SilverSneakers to eligible individuals to access the Lincoln Park Pool, and when re-open, the Orchard Mesa Pool. Silver Sneakers pays for its member’s use of the Lincoln Park Pool and the Orchard Mesa Pool. To be eligible, an individual, usually over 60 years of age, must have a participating health insurance plan. Participating insurance plans include AARP Supplement, AETNA Medicare, Humana, Kaiser Permanente, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and United Healthcare. Members will be provided admission into the Lincoln Park Pool free of cost and the member’s insurance reimburses the City of Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Department. Parks and Recreation staff are working to provide additional services in the future such as fitness classes.
Silver Sneakers has over 17,000 locations including public facilities like the Fruita Community Center and the Bill Heddles Recreation Center in Delta, and private gyms across the country. Anyone who has a membership can find the nearest participating facility to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The program also gives access to discounts on health and wellness services.
How to Sign-Up with Grand Junction Parks and Recreation:
- Visit silversneakers.com to see if you are eligible and to register for Silver Sneakers.
- Come to the Lincoln Park Pool (970-254-3848) or the Parks and Recreation office at 1340 Gunnison Avenue (970-254-3866).
- Parks and Recreation staff will provide you with a membership card which will give you access into the Lincoln Park Pool, the Orchard Mesa Pool when it opens back up and fitness classes in the future.
