One of the most visible units at the Grand Junction Police Department is the beloved K-9 Unit. The Grand Junction Police Department currently has two K-9 officer positions, which enhance the public safety of the City of Grand Junction residents. A K-9 team deters criminal activity and assists the department in locating illegal drugs and finding missing persons. Properly trained and deployed K-9s have a direct impact on reducing crime in the areas where they are deployed.
