A view of the Spring Creek fire

The Grand Junction Fire Department Wildland Team has been asked to respond to the Spring Creek fire near Parachute. A team of four along with Brush 6 will depart Grand Junction today and can expect to work for up to fourteen days. As of today the Spring Creek fire has grown to over 3,000 acres and is growing due to heavy fuels and high winds. GJFD maintains two other wildland fire apparatus that will remain in the City. The Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unit Facebook page will continue to provide updates on the Spring creek Fire as new information is available.
