City Calls for Artists to Create Art for Roundabout at 24 Road and G Road

Calling All Artists!

Artists interested in creating artwork for the 29 and G Road roundabout location can apply by submitting a letter of interest, resume and six annotated images of original representative work to Jonathan Wheatley, Arts and Culture supervisor at jonathanw@gjcity.org by Monday, October 2, 2023.  Artists have three months to assemble their proposals which are due October 2, 2023. The city’s Commission on Arts and Culture will select the artist to complete the work, which must be installed by August 1, 2024.

One percent of the city’s budget for certain capital improvement projects is allocated to fund this type of public art through the city’s Arts Program. This program expands opportunities for residents and visitors to experience high-quality art by facilitating the acquisition and display of art in public places throughout Grand Junction.

The Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture is dedicated to developing the quantity, quality, and affordability of arts and culture for the Grand Junction area. For more information about serving as a volunteer for the Commission on Arts and Culture or on other city boards and commissions, email cityclerk@gjcity.org or call 970-244-1509.
