Bonsai Design, in collaboration with the City of Grand Junction, celebrates the completion of Riverfront Zip Adventures, the zipline at Las Colonias Park, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 8 a.m. at Bonsai Headquarters, 1601 Riverfront Drive.

In 2021, Bonsai Design and the City of Grand Junction entered an agreement to build a 1,000+ foot zipline launching from Eagle Rim Park by the west shelter and landing at Las Colonias Park at the north end of the Butterfly Pond. Bonsai Design spearheaded the evolution of Las Colonias Park, with signature elements such as the River Park at Las Colonias and Butterfly Lake.

Bonsai Design is a design-build firm based in Grand Junction with 19 years of experience in the Aerial Adventure Course Industry. Bonsai has installed more than 65 adventure courses serving over one million individual participant experiences to date.

The larger revitalization projects taking place along the riverfront are a priority outlined in the city’s Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Master Plan for the parks and recreation system. The PROS Master Plan includes projects to be completed over the next several years. More information about the PROS Master Plan.
