[ARCHIVED] Projects Affecting Traffic for the Week of September 18, 2023

City Public Works Projects

City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

7th St. and North Ave. Emergency Repair

  • Beginning Sunday, Sept. 17, the intersection of 7th St. and North Ave. will be closed from 8 p.m. until 6:30 a.m.
  • Closures will occur on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings into Wednesday morning 
  • Detours will be in place
  • Expect delays

24 Road and G Road – Traffic Roundabout Project

  • Moderate traffic impacts and new lane configurations
  • 15 mph speed limit around 24 Rd. and G Rd. roundabout 
  • Access to Canyon View Park, Golden Gate Petroleum, and Community Hospital will be maintained

 Waterline Replacement Project, Phase 2

  • 20th St. and 21st St. between Elm Ave. and Orchard Ave. is closed to thru traffic
  • Resident access will be maintained
  • Anticipated completion – October 2023   

30 Rd. Sidewalk Replacement Project 

  • South and North bound 30 Rd. lane shifts, between E Rd. and D Rd. 
  • Expect traffic delays, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mon. - Fri.

Horizon Dr. Sidewalk Removal 

  • Tuesday, Sept. 19, lane shift north of G Rd. eastbound outside lane
  • Access to businesses will be maintained
  • Expect delays and congested traffic

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restriction  

S. Broadway between 23 Rd. and Easter Hill Dr.– Private Development               

  • Utility work along with new curb, gutter, and sidewalk construction will take place throughout the summer
  • Expect intermittent road closures with well-marked detours
  • Resident access will be provided

Mesa County Overlay Patterson Rd. (30 Rd. to I-70B)

  • Milling operations (night work)
  • Lane shifts expect delays

W. Scenic Dr. Drainage Improvement Project (on the Redlands north of Hwy 340)– Mesa County               

  • Work hours will be Mon. – Fri., 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Expect alternating single-lane traffic throughout the duration of the project, with up to 10 min. delays 
  • Resident access will be maintained
  • Anticipated completion – September

1st St. Gas Line Construction – CDOT

  • 1st St. between Rood Ave. and Pufferbelly
  • 1st St. will be reduced to one lane for both south and northbound traffic
  • Expect delays
  • Anticipated completion – Mid-November

2422 Patterson Rd. (Private Development)

  • Lane shifts
  • New water, storm sewer, curb gutter, and sidewalk 
  • Expect delays 
  • Anticipated completion- end of September

Xcel Project at 25 Rd. and Foresight Circle

  • Foresight Circle at 25 Rd. will be closed, detour in place
  • Access to businesses will be maintained 
  • Expect delays and longer commute times
