City Public Works Projects

City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

24 Road and G Road – Traffic Roundabout Project  

  • Moderate traffic impacts and new lane configurations on 24 Rd. for landscaping 
  • Be aware of the posted 15 mph speed limit around the 24 Rd. and G Rd. Roundabout  
  • Access to Canyon View Park, Golden Gate Petroleum & Community Hospital will be maintained 

City of Grand Junction Leaf Removal Program 

  • Please slow down in areas where City crews are working 
  • Anticipated completion: early December (weather permitting)

5th St Fire Line Replacement 

  • Work begins Friday, October 20
  • Lane shifts and lane closures to be expected 
  • 5th St. will be closed Sunday, October 22  
  • Detours will be put into place 
  • Anticipated Completion: October 25

2023 Sewer Replacement Project 

  • Lane realignments on 27 Rd. from Unaweep to B ¾ Rd. 
  • Resident access will be maintained 
  • Anticipated completion: October 2023  

Riverside Waterline Replacement Project 

  • Rockaway Ave. and Chuluota Ave. between Fairview Ave. and Hale Ave. is closed to thru traffic
  • Resident access will be maintained 
  • Anticipated completion: end of November  

Sewer Replacement Project 

  • 25th St. north of North Ave. will be closed 
  • Plan alternative routes
  • Business access will be maintained 
  • Anticipated completion: early November

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restriction 

Mesa County ADA Ramp Replacements 

  • I-70B to Lodgepole St. 
  • Lane shifts, westbound from I-70B to Lodgepole St. and eastbound from Lodgepole St. To I-70B  
  •  S. Broadway between 23 Rd. & Easter Hill Dr.– Private Development 
  • Utility work along with new curb, gutter and sidewalk construction will take place throughout the summer 
  • Expect intermittent road closures with well-marked detours 
  • Resident access will be provided 

1st St. Gas Line Construction – CDOT   

  • 1st St. between Rood Ave. and Pufferbelly 
  • 1st St. will be reduced to one lane for both south and north bound traffic 
  • Expect delays 
  • Anticipated Completion – mid November 

Xcel Project at 25 Rd and Foresight Cir. 

  • Foresight Cir. at 25 Rd will be closed, detours will be put in place 
  • Access to businesses will be maintained 
  • Expect delays and longer than normal commute times 
  • Night work and lane shift on 25 Rd.
