GJPD Investigating Early Morning Shooting

Newsflash - Patch

Detectives with the Grand Junction Police Department are investigating an early morning shooting, that took place on November 25, 2020.

Shortly after 4:30am, a reporting party called the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center stating that her son had been shot and was being transported to the hospital in a personal vehicle. One adult male suffered a gunshot wound and was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The location of the shooting was later confirmed as having taken place at a business in the 2800 block of North Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene, immediately set up a perimeter, and began investigating the events that unfolded. Detectives with the Grand Junction Police Department are conducting witness interviews, collecting surveillance footage that may have captured the parties involved, and processing the scene.

Currently, we believe this to be an isolated incident and do not believe there is any ongoing public safety threat. But as always, remain vigilant about your surroundings and call 911 if you are in danger or see anything suspicious.
