Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool Opens for the Season on May 22

Lifeguard looking over Lincoln Park pool

The Grand Junction Parks & Recreation Department is preparing to open the Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool for the 2021 summer season on Saturday, May 22. The pool will open earlier than it did last year, and Parks & Recreation staff are busy preparing for opening. The pool will be open for public swim, lap swim, and swimming lessons this summer, and will host several special events, including a School's Out Party on Monday, May 24, a 4th of July Celebration, and a Back-to-School Splash on August 6.

Public swim opens every day at 1:30 p.m. The enclosed water slide and splash pad, which were both closed in 2020 due to the pandemic, will also be open to the public. The splash pad is free, and the water slide costs an extra $2.50 per user in addition to admission. The Parks & Recreation Department will also offer swim lessons this summer season.

Swim lessons are offered for all abilities and ages from 3 months old to 15 years old. Safety is the responsibility of all aquatics users and Parks & Recreation strongly encourages parents to be actively engaged in the water with their kids and to watch them vigilantly at all times. Department lifeguards receive regular on-going trainings and receive an industry-leading certification for their lifesaving skills.

A full pool calendar, as well as admission, season pass prices, and swim lesson information can be found online at www.gjparksandrec.org or in the 2021 Summer Activity Guide. For more information on the Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool and swim lessons, please visit the website or call at 970-254-3866.
