Projects Affecting Traffic for the Week of August 16, 2021

City of Grand Junction Public Works Projects

City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

Waterline Replacement Project Phase 1

  1. Chipeta Avenue from 7th Street to 12th Street
  2. White Avenue from 9th Street to 12th StreetDuring construction, both streets will be closed to thru traffic
    • Both streets will be closed to thru traffic
    • Access for residents will be provided
    • No on street parking
    • Anticipated Completion- Late August              

G Road Utility Construction, between Spanish Trail Dr. and South Entrance into Canyon View Park

  • G Road is closed to thru traffic between 24 1/2 Road and 24 Road
  • Access to Canyon View Park from the 24 1/2 Road entrance of the 24 Road entrance
  • Access Spanish Trail Subdivision from 24 1/2 Road using Jack Creek Road

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions   

1st Street & Grand Avenue Improvement Project – CDOT

  • Expect intermittent lane closures, traffic pattern changes and delays on 1st Street, I-70B and Grand Avenue 
  • Also expect possible side street closures with well-marked detour routes in place
  • Be aware of reduced speed limit throughout the construction zone
  • Access to local business’s will be provided
  • Alternate route advised  
  • Anticipated completion – May 2022 

E Road Reconstruction between 31 Road and 32 Road – Mesa County

  • Expect full Road Closures with a well-marked detour route at various locations
  • Be aware of the 15-mph reduced speed limit, along with increased law enforcement 
  • Resident access will be maintained
  • Alternate Route advised
  • Work hours: Monday thru Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM
  • Anticipated Completion- January 2022

Orchard Avenue Gas Line Replacement between 3rd Street and 7th Street – Xcel Energy

  • Orchard Ave. will be closed to through traffic for asphalt paving
  • Detour route will be in place
  • Resident access will be provided 
  • Anticipated Completion - Late August

Orchard Avenue Construction between Cannell Avenue and 10th Street - Colorado Mesa University

  • Orchard Avenue will be closed to through traffic east of 7th
  • Detour route will be in place
  • Resident access will be provided
  • Anticipated Completion - Late September
