Projects Affecting Traffic for the Week of November 1, 2021

City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

24 Road & G Road Bridge Replacement Project 

  • G Road is closed from west of Spanish Trail Drive to 24 Road
  • Access Canyon View Park from either 24 Road or 24 1/2 Road only
  • Access Spanish Trail subdivision from 24 1/2 Road only (Jack Creek Road)
  • Detour route will be in place
  • Anticipated Completion - Late March 2022

2021 Sewer Line Replacement Project - Unaweep Avenue

  •  Unaweep Avenue will be closed between Hwy 50 and Escalante Street
  •  Detour route will be in place
  •  Resident access will be provided
  • Anticipated Completion - Late November

2021 Street Asphalt Overlay Project

The following streets are scheduled to be overlaid this week, delays can be expected:

  1. Various streets off Unaweep Ave.
  2. 20 ½ Rd. from Broadway to F ¾ Rd.
  3. Ridgeway Ct. from Ridges Blvd. to Plateau Dr.
  4.  Plateau Dr. from Ridgeway Ct. to Mariposa Dr.
  5. W. Plateau Ct. from Plateau Dr. to end of cul-de-sac
  6. Hidden Valley Dr. from Ridgeway Dr. to High Ridge Dr.
  7.  High Ridge Dr. from Hidden Valley Dr. to end of cul-de-sac
  8. Hidden Valley Ct. from Hidden Valley Dr. to end of cul-de-sac
  9. Hidden Valley Cir. from Hidden Valley Dr. to end of cul-de-sac
  10. E. Valley Cir from W Valley Cir to Ridges Blvd.
  11. W. Valley Cir. from Ridges Blvd. to Ridge Circle Dr.
  12. Valley View Way from W. Valley Cir. to Ridge Circle Dr.
  13. Ridgeway Dr. from Ridges Blvd. to Ridgeway Ct.

Monument Road Construction: Installation of Left Turn Lane

  • Expect alternating one lane traffic along Monument Road between S. Redlands Road and Glade Park Road during normal work hours
  • Delays can be expected
  • The paved recreational trail will be closed throughout the construction zone
  • Anticipated Completion: Early November

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions   

1st Street & Grand Avenue Improvement Project – CDOT

  • Expect intermittent lane closures, traffic pattern changes, and delays on 1st Street, I-70B, and Grand Avenue 
  • Expect possible side street closures with well-marked detour routes in place
  • Be aware of reduced speed limits throughout the construction zone
  • Access to local businesses will be provided
  • Alternate route advised  
  • Anticipated completion – May 2022 

E Road Reconstruction between 31 Road and 32 Road – Mesa County

  • Expect full Road Closures with a well-marked detour route at various locations
  • Be aware of the 15-mph reduced speed limit, along with increased law enforcement 
  • Resident access will be maintained
  • Alternate Route advised
  • Work hours: Monday thru Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Anticipated completion - January 2022

24 Road Between I Road and J Road Utility Work - Ute Water

  • 24 Road is closed to thru traffic
  • Detour Route will be in place
  • Anticipated Completion - Late November

W. Ridges Blvd. Utility Work; Private Development

  • W. Ridges Blvd. will be closed just west of School Ridge Road starting Monday November 1
  • All W. Ridges Blvd. residents west of School Ridge Road including golf course patrons must use Mariposa Drive
  • Anticipated Completion; Wednesday November 3
