In Recognition of Heart Month, Grand Junction Fire Department has released a new digital class to share the importance of Hands-Only CPR. Hands-Only CPR is an effective and science-based approach to saving a life. In Mesa County 70-80% of cardiac arrests happen at home, which means you are most likely to offer CPR to a friend or family member. Hands-Only CPR can double or even triple chances of survival. The methods taught in this video are appropriate for teens and adults. While this video is not a certification, we recommend this training for families and friends of someone with heart disease risk factors or history of heart attack. We also recommend it as a standard part of annual workplace safety training.
GJFD would like to thank: St Mary’s Medical Center, Community Hospital, Family Health West, Grand Junction Police Department, and Grand Junction Regional Dispatch Center for participating in this video and helping to spread awareness of the importance of Hands-Only CPR.
