GJPD Investigating Early Morning Shooting #GVCopBeat

Detectives with the Grand Junction Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of Horizon Drive in the early morning hours of April 23, 2022.

At approximately 3:00am, a reporting party called 9-1-1 to report multiple gunshots heard in the area of the 700 Block of Horizon Drive. Shortly after officers arrived and began investigating, officers were informed that a male subject had arrived at the hospital in a personal vehicle with a gunshot wound. It was determined that these incidents are related. The male is receiving medical care and further information about the extent of his injuries is not available at this time.

Officers and detectives are canvassing the area where the shooting is believed to have occurred. They are contacting area businesses that may have captured video, as well as looking for potential evidence. No suspects have been detained at this time.

There may be traffic disruptions to this area of Horizon Drive throughout the morning hours, so people traveling to the airport are advised to take I-70.
