#UPDATE (Saturday, July 9, 12:35pm): Ryah has been located and is safe. We are still seeking information regarding the whereabouts of Justin Leech. If you have any information that could assist police with this investigation, please call non-emergency dispatch at 970-242-6707 reference case number 22-31406, or to remain anonymous, you can submit a tip through Crime Stoppers of Mesa County.

Can you help us find Justin and Ryah?

On Friday evening, July 8th, just before 10pm, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a home in the 1900 Block of N. 6th Street on a report of a fight. Upon arrival, witnesses stated that Justin Leech, 33, was involved in an argument and fight with his wife, Ryah Leech, 29.  During the fight, Justin allegedly dragged Ryah from the residence, forced her into a black Chrysler 300, and left the area in an unknown direction of travel. Officers notified partner law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the vehicle and began investigating.

Just after midnight, officers located the vehicle in the area of 15th Street and Patterson Road. Officers attempted a traffic stop but the driver fled at a high rate of speed, ultimately losing control of the car and crashing into a power pole near 15th Street and Elm Avenue. According to witnesses, a male and female were seen fleeing from the vehicle on foot. A perimeter was set up and officers searched the area for the subjects, as well as sending an emergency notification to phone numbers registered in the area. At this time, the vehicle has been recovered but both Justin and Ryah's whereabouts are unknown.

Justin is suspected of kidnapping and other domestic violence related offenses. We also want to confirm Ryah’s welfare. If you have any information that could help us contact either of these individuals, please call us at 970-242-6707 reference case number 22-31604. You can also submit a tip via Crime Stoppers of Mesa County if you prefer to remain anonymous.
