The Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture has chosen 11 artists to paint 12 murals at multiple locations along the Riverfront Trail as part of the aRT Mural program. Artists will be painting Saturday, September 17 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The community is invited to attend and watch the artists in action at the following locations:
“Through aRT, we can expand the opportunities to experience and appreciate art throughout our community while also providing spaces to nurture the creativity of local artists,” stated Ken Sherbenou, Parks and Recreation director. “The aRT Mural program is designed to transform underpasses along the Riverfront Trail into vibrant, colorful artistic expressions that enhance the trail users’ experience.”
aRT is a fluid process with murals changing bi-annually, bringing new and fresh designs to the Riverfront Trail.
The Grand Junction Commission on Arts and Culture is dedicated to developing the quantity, quality, and affordability of arts and culture for the Grand Junction area.
