GJPD Makes Arrest in North Avenue Shooting

The Grand Junction Police Department has made an arrest in the shooting incident which occurred on the morning of October 9, 2022. Read more about the incident here.

Aaron Frost, age 18, of Grand Junction, CO has been arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:

  • Criminal Attempt to Commit First Degree Murder
  • Assault in the First Degree, 2 counts
  • Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, 3 counts
  • Reckless Endangerment, 7 counts

On the morning of October 9, 2022, officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to reports that an adult female with a gunshot wound was being transported in a personal vehicle to St. Mary’s Hospital. During the investigation, a second victim, an adult male with a gunshot wound, was treated and released by doctors. Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
