Planned median improvements will take place along a section of the Riverside Parkway between 25 Road and West Avenue on Wednesday, October 12 and Friday, October 14, 2022. Crews will be working to replace dead trees. Lane closures are planned to begin after rush hour in the morning with lanes reopening before the evening rush. Only one lane both eastbound and westbound will be closed on the parkway with intermittent stopping possible from 25 Road to West Avenue. Business access will remain open and motorists are encouraged to slow down and watch for crews in the right-of-way. All lanes of traffic will reopen after work concludes on October 14, 2022.
“The City of Grand Junction Parks staff are working to replace dead trees on Riverside Parkway, almost all of which are Ash trees damaged by pests,” stated Ken Sherbenou, Parks and Recreation director. “The planting of new, healthy trees will beautify the medians along this key Grand Junction corridor.”
