City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

2022 Asphalt Overlay Project 

  • Redlands Parkway between Hwy 340 Roundabout and the Colorado River Bridge
    • Shoulder work
    • Minimal traffic impacts
  • 21 ½ Road between Hwy 6& 50 and Storage Court
    • Asphalt paving
    • Expect delays
  • 25 ½ Road between Independent Avenue and Patterson Road
    • Asphalt milling and paving
    • Expect delays

 River Front Trail Improvement Project

  • The River Front Trail will be closed between Bananas Fun Park and the Junior Service League Park/ Redlands Pkwy.
  • City crews are replacing the asphalt trail with concrete 
  • A well-marked detour route will be in place utilizing the bike path alongside the Riverside Pkwy. 

 City of Grand Junction Leaf Removal Program  

  • Please slowdown in areas where crews are working
  • Anticipated Completion – Early December (weather permitting)

 5th Street and the Riverside Pkwy.  (West side of Interchange) – Renovation Project

  • Wednesday and Thursday Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • Both the on ramp and off ramp of Riverside Pkwy., south bound 5th Street only will be closed 
  • Detour route will be in place              

Non-City of Grand Junction Projects with Travel Restrictions

North Avenue between 1st Street and I-70B, Resurfacing Project – CDOT

  • The paving operation continues during the afternoons and evenings due to temperature concerns. (2pm until 2am daily except for Fridays and Saturdays)

  • One lane of traffic in each direction will always be open
  • Be aware of the 20-mph reduced speed limit and 10’ width restriction throughout the work zone
  • Please be aware of workers in the “cone zone” and be respectful of their safety
  • Anticipated Completion: Mid December (weather dependent)

23 Road Between H Road and I Road, Utility Construction – Ute Water

  • 23 Road is closed to thru traffic between H Road and I Road
  • Access for residents will be maintained
  • Detour Route will be in place
  • Anticipated Completion - Friday November 18 (weather dependent)

South Camp Road Shoulder Improvement Project – Mesa County

  • Shoulder work along South Camp Road between Monument Road and Rimrock Road
  • South Camp Road may have Intermittent alternating one lane traffic, Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. 
  • Expect delays
  • Anticipated Completion – Mid December (weather dependent)

Helena Street north of F Road, Utility Construction – Clifton Sanitation

  • Helena Street will be closed Wednesday and Thursday
  • Detour route will be in place

  Hwy 141 and Coffman Road (Whitewater), Utility Construction – Private Development

  • Coffman Road will be closed Thursday and Friday between Hwy 141 and Gaylord Street
  • Detour route will be in place
