The Grand Junction Police Department has made an arrest in a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injuries, which occurred on 11/28/2022.
Rudy Quimbar Jr, age 18, was arrested and remanded to the Mesa County Detention Facility on the following charges:
• Two counts of Vehicular Assault
• Reckless Driving
• Speeding (40+ over the speed limit)
The initial incident occurred on 11/28/22, at approximately 4:00 PM, when officers with the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of S 13th St and Pitkin Ave. Two primary vehicles slid into a parking lot, striking two additional vehicles and a forklift, causing serious bodily injury to an individual working in the area. Four people, in total, were transported to the hospital; two with minor injuries, and two with serious bodily injuries who remain in serious condition. The crash also caused significant property damage.
