Update (01/27/23) The 21st Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has completed its investigation on the officer involved shooting which occurred on December 6, 2022. The Grand Junction Police Department is identifying the two officers involved in the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Tuesday, December 6, 2022. Both officers discharged their duty weapons during this incident.
Officer Micah Conrads is a seven-year veteran of the Grand Junction Police Department. Officer Conrads serves as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, and SWAT Operator.
Officer Joey Gonzalez is an eight-year veteran of the Grand Junction Police Department. Officer Gonzalez served on the Department’s K-9 unit for four years. He currently serves as a Patrol Officer and is a military veteran.
As is standard protocol with any officer involved shooting, both officers are currently on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of an internal investigation which takes place separately from the criminal investigation being conducted by the 21st Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team.
