How do I vote my ballot?

Follow all the voting instructions shown on your ballot (Use black or blue pen only). After you have marked all your voting choices and finished voting:

  1. Refold your ballot along the original fold lines.
  2. Place the voted ballot into the Official Return Envelope. (only one ballot per envelope)
  3. On the back of the Official Return Envelope complete the three blank lines:
    • Print your (1) name on the line that reads “Self Affirmation” 
    • (2) Sign and (3) date on the lines “Self Affirmation”  (You must complete all three lines for your ballot to be valid.)
      • Only one voter’s ballot is permitted in your Official Return Envelope. If more than one ballot is placed in your Official Return Envelope, none of the ballots will be counted.
    • If you have ID Required stamped above your name on the Official Return Ballot Envelope, YOU MUST submit a valid ID or your vote will not count!

      • Make a photocopy of one of the IDs listed here
      • Place the photocopy inside the Official Return Envelope.

Return your voted ballot by mail, or hand deliver it to a Designated Ballot Drop Box location. 

Ballots MUST BE RECEIVED at the Grand Junction City Clerk’s Office or a Designated Ballot Drop Box location by 7 p.m. on Election Day for your vote to be counted. Ballots received after 7 p.m. on April 4, 2023, will not be counted.

Postmarks do not count as a received date. You must apply appropriate postage if returning ballot by mail.

Where can I drop off my ballot?
There are five designated ballot drop box locations. All will be available beginning March 17, 2023, through Election Day, April 4, 2023. 

Available 24 hours and until 7 p.m. on Election day 

  • Grand Junction City Hall (outside ballot drop box) 250 N. 5th Street Grand Junction
  • Grand Valley Transit - West Transfer Facility (outside ballot drop box) 612 24 1/2 Road, Grand Junction 
  • Department of Human Services (outside ballot drop box) 510 29 1/2 Road, Grand Junction
  • Mesa County Central Services (drive up ballot drop box in parking lot) 200 S. Spruce Street, Grand Junction 
  • Colorado Mesa University (ballot drop box outside Robinson Theatre) 1299 N. 12th St, Grand Junction 

Available: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday (except legal holidays) and on Election Day 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
