Tai Chi, though originally developed as a martial art for self-defense, has evolved into a beautiful form of exercise that fosters physical and mental health improvement and aids spiritual growth. Tai Chi's slow, circular movements, breath control, and deep relaxation techniques help reduce stress, anxiety, and sleep difficulties.
Orchard Mesa Pool
Take the plunge into club swimming with the Grand Junction Rapids! Practices include stroke workshops, spring and distance swims, starts and turns, and dry-land exercises. Registrants should be proficient in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke and able to swim at least 50 yards non-stop. Knowledge of butterfly stroke is recommended.
Swim lessons begin at the Orchard Mesa Pool and continue through October 5, 2023. Multiple levels available including Aquatot 1, 2, 3, Water Acclimation, Waterworks 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Bookcliff Activity Center
Fencing is a one-of-a-kind sport that teaches problem solving, tactical thinking, and sportsmanship, all while improving physical fitness and coordination. Fencing's combination of fancy footwork and swordplay develops agility, strength, speed, and strategy, and is a great mental and physical workout for all ages!
