The City of Grand Junction takes your privacy seriously. We are committed to protecting your individual privacy and securing the personal information made available to us when you visit www.gjcity.org. For certain services or applications, the City of Grand Junction or third parties we contract with may collect and process data about your location. Various technologies may be used to determine location. Your location can be determined with varying degrees of accuracy by IP address, Global Positioning Systems (GPS), sensor data from your device, and information about things near your device, such as Wi-Fi access points, cell towers, and Bluetooth-enabled devices.
The City of Grand Junction, or third parties we do business with, may collect information about your location to deliver services such as geo-location push notifications, location maps, and proximity to locations. The types of data collected depend in part on your device and account settings. For example, you can turn your Android device's location on or off using the device's account settings. You can also turn on Location History if you want to save and manage your location information in your account.
The City of Grand Junction does not share location data. The City of Grand Junction may, however, engage with third parties who collect location data to deliver services. For example, we may contract with third parties to develop mobile device applications that provide geo-location push notifications and location maps.
